Develocity Edge
Develocity Edge deploys Develocity services closer to where your builds run, improving build performance and the reliability of build acceleration. Edge nodes serve build data at local network speed, replicate it through Develocity to every other Edge, and can act as a transparent proxy for Build Scan uploads, Predictive Test Selection requests, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) requests, giving builds and AI agents a single local point of access even in restricted network environments.
Key Capabilities
-
Serves Build Cache, Artifact Cache, and Setup Cache entries from Edge nodes deployed close to your build agents, reducing latency and improving the reliability of build acceleration.
-
Replicates build data through Develocity, so an artifact stored at one Edge becomes available at every other Edge without the Edge locations connecting to each other.
-
Acts as a transparent proxy for Build Scan uploads, Predictive Test Selection requests, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) requests, providing a single access point in restricted network environments.
-
Serves the Artifact Cache CLI to CI agents, so CI jobs fetch it from the Edge instead of the public internet.
-
Runs as a Docker container, an executable JAR, or in a Kubernetes cluster.
-
Supports Edge discovery and failover, so compatible Gradle, Maven, and sbt builds automatically locate Edge nodes and fail over between them.
See the User Manual to set up an Edge, install and connect Edge nodes, configure replication and Edge discovery, and proxy Build Scan, Predictive Test Selection, and MCP traffic.
