# Release History

> Other build tools publish a Build Scan through a Develocity plugin, extension, or agent. Bazel needs none: it publishes build events to the Build Event Service built into the Develocity server, and the server creates the Build Scan. Changes to Develocity for Bazel therefore ship in Develocity server releases, and this documentation uses the server version. The history starts at 2026.3, the first version numbered this way. Every Develocity release gets an entry, including releases with no Bazel-specific changes.
